These reports continue the annual reports. The 1937 report is combined with the report of the Finance commissioner, reflecting the government reorganization of 1936, and the assignment of some of the state auditor's functions to the Department of Finance. In the 1940's, the auditor began to perform post-audits of state agencies and institutions, and of county governments. The reports for those years are published in separate volumes. In the 1950's the biennial reports begin to describe only brief and general information from audits and investigations. The reports include receipts and disbursements of public funds in the Treasury; reports of the school fund, the jury fund, and the sinking fund; itemized county tax and fee reports; property assessments; lists of pauper idiots; names of officials; reports of fees collected by the county and circuit courts, fees for criminal prosecutions; and bank and corporation reports.
